Case 3974: Body Contouring after Weight Loss
This patient lost approximately 65 pounds over the course of 2 years. This resulted in a significant amount of loose skin of the abdomen, thighs and buttock region. A traditional abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) would have only addressed the anterior abdominal region. This patient underwent a circumferential body lift, sometimes also refer to as circumferential abdominoplasty or belt lipectomy, which created a dramatic improvement in the anterior abdomen, thighs and buttock region. In the correct patients, this procedure can be a profound life changing events, just as much as the weight loss itself. As a testament to the excellent care she received, she eventually returned to have a breast lift, which can be another troubled area with excessive weight loss. Note that her incisions will fade significantly with time since these photos are only 6 weeks after surgery.
