Case 4199: Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

This patient exhibits excess hanging skin of the lower abdomen as well as stretch marks. She wanted to improve the contour of her abdomen and remove some of her stretch marks. Furthermore, she did not like the looseness of the skin in the hip region which developed after she lost some weight. She underwent an extended abdominoplasty (extended tummy tuck) which is a variation of a traditional tummy tuck procedure. With the traditional tummy tuck, the incision ends near the hip bones. The extended tummy tuck takes the incision towards the side of the waist and around to the back. This is used to remove the excess skin that was sagging on the lateral waist area. She was very pleased with the excellent result from her extended tummy tuck surgery.
