Face Lift (Rhytidectomy)
With time, the skin of the face and neck begin to loosen and
show the long-term effects of sun exposure, gravity, dry climate,
and stress. The overall result is a more aged appearing
face with wrinkles along the side of the nose, mouth, eyes and
neck regions.
A facelift (rhytidectomy) involves removal of the
excess skin of the face and neck region. The underlying
muscle are tightened to further improve the youthful result that
is desired. This will help restore the smoothness
and tightness associated with younger skin, as well as to reestablish
definition of the neckline. Facelifts can be performed
in conjunction with other procedures of the face such as browlift,
eyelid rejuvenation, or nose reshaping.
If your problem is limited to the neck area, you may be more
suited for a neck lift which will restore the youthfulness of
your neckline and remove the vertical bands associated with loosening
of the muscles.

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is the procedure used to restore
the appearance associated with youthful, well-rested, vibrant
eyes. It is ideal for patients who have excess skin and
fat of the eyelids causing a tired, aged appearance. Upper
and lower eyelid surgery involves removal of excess skin and
fat to alleviate this tired look. Lower eyelid blepharoplasty
removes the puffy, baggy appearance to the lower eyelids as well.
Occasionally, the excess overhanging skin of the upper eyelids
can cause obstruction of vision. In some of these cases,
the muscles in the upper eyelids need to be tightened to prevent
the eyelids from interfering with vision. In patients of Asian
origin, eyelid surgery can create an upper eyelid crease, if
desired, and a more youthful appearance, while still maintaining
Asian ethnicity.

Forehead Lift (Browlift)
A forehead lift (browlift) is the procedure used to elevate
the eyebrows to restore their proper height and tighten the skin
of the forehead. This brings out a refreshed, alert appearance
and removes the horizontal lines & frown lines that are
associated with an angry, tired, aged look.
The surgery can be performed either endoscopically (using a
narrow tube with a light and camera at the end) via several small
incisions placed within the hairline or through an incision along
the length of the hairline. The choice of which procedure
depends upon the individual’s appearance and needs, his
or her preference, and the desired result. Both procedures
involve the removal of any excess muscle which might be contributing
to frown lines.
Often, forehead lifts are performed in conjunction with eyelid
surgery &/or facelifts to bring about a balanced result. This
helps to restore harmony and energy to the facial features.

Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty)
Nose reshaping surgery (rhinoplasty) involves alteration of
the different aspects of the nose to improve the shape and appearance
as desired by the individual. There are a wide range of
issues that can require attention ranging from a simple problem
with just one portion of the nose to significant derangements
of the internal and external structures that necessitate extensive
reconstruction. Regardless
of the problem, the overall outcome can greatly improve the appearance
of the nose and symmetry of the face. Even minor changes
in the nose can produce a dramatic improvement.
Sometimes the shape of the nose and nasal septum can interfere
with adequate breathing through the nostrils. Surgery on
the nasal bones and septum (septoplasty) can improve the flow
of air, relieving the difficulty in breathing.
Our board certified plastic surgeons will do a careful and thorough
assessment of the anatomy and abnormalities present to make the
appropriate recommendation for fulfilling your desired outcome.

Lip Augmentation
Lip augmentation is used to improve the fullness of lips. Some
people are born with thin lips, while others' lips become thinned
out with advancing age. Thin lips are another sign of aging that
can be potentially reversed with the help of tissue fillers or
fat grafting.
Lip augmentation can be accomplished through either tissue fillers
or fat augmentation
Tissue fillers, such as Radiesse and Restylane,
are used to restore lost volume in the various areas of the face
including the lips. Radiesse can last 6 to 18 months,
with Restylane lasting approximately 3 to 6 months. Radiesse,
with its greater longevity, is better for the folds and creases
round the mouth; however, it is more likely to result in clumps
and visible lumps when injected into the red portion of the lips.
Restylane on the other hand, works better in the red portion
of the lips with less clumping. Both Radiesse and Restylane can
be performed in the office within 30 minutes with minimal risks.
Another option for patients looking for longer lasting results,
is to undergo fat grafting. This
is performed by removing fat from another portion of the body
and subsequently injecting this fat into the folds and creases
of the face and lips. Unlike Radiesse and Restylane, which are
done in the office, fat grafting is usually performed in the
operating room under anesthesia. It must be performed in conjunction
with liposuction to harvest the fat. You can expect to retain
approximately 40-50% of the fat grafting long term.

Chin Implants
An individual's appearance on profile is significantly influenced
by the projection of their chin. A "weak" chin
is one that is recessed. One way to correct the weak chin
is to place a chin implant over the bone of the chin, restoring
the harmony of a balanced facial profile.
Chin implant surgery involves placing a silicone implant through
an incision either in the mouth or in the skin on the underside
of the chin. Various shapes and sizes of implants are available
to correct an individuals' deficiency. Occasionally, chin surgery
is performed in conjunction with nose surgery, because a large
nose can make a weak chin look more pronounced.
In some patients, where a large amount of augmentation is required
in this area, cuts are made in the bone of the lower jaw to
allow an advancement of the bone of the chin. The decision as
to whether this type of surgery is more appropriate than a chin
implant is made between you and the surgeon.
Dr. Dash and Dr. Jain perform chin implant surgery under general
anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Patients are generally very
happy and more confident with their stronger and improved profile.

Cheek Implants
Promiment cheek bones are associated with a youthful and well
balanced facial structure. Flattening of the cheek region can
occur with age as the soft tissue overlying the cheeks begins
to sag and drift downward. In others, shallow cheeks may
be feature they have had since birth. In either case, a cheek
implant can help restore a youthful and harmonious appearance
to the facial structure.
Dr. Dash and Dr. Jain, can perform cheek implant surgery by
itself or along with other surgeries, such as facelift or mid-facelift,
eyelid surgery, nose reshaping, or chin implants. The implants
can be placed through an incision on the inside of the upper
gums of the mouth or through a lower eyelid incision. It is done
under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure.
Patients who undergo cheek implant surgery have an improved
self-image due to the creation of a more balanced and youthful
facial features.
